Ivory pine cone sicilian ceramic Caltagirone

The traditional Sicilian ceramic pine cone is made exclusively by hand by Caltagirone ceramic craftsmen, according to the ancient traditional lathe manufacturing process of the base cap, the bracts are applied by hand one by one, follows the drying phase, then of the first baking called biscuit, then the pine cone is glazed and put back in the oven for a second and last baking.

Being an artisan article, it could present small imperfections, which characterize the work done by hand without the aid of industrial means. This peculiarity must not be considered a defect but a characteristic of the product itself.
